Please read these Terms carefully. They explain your rights and ours when you use Renew. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
Renew is developed and published by Yağız Ada Umur, an individual developer based in Türkiye ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at yadaumur@gmail.com.
These Terms apply to the Renew app for iPhone and iPad (including its widgets, updates and earlier versions), to the Renew Pro in-app purchase and to this website (together, "Renew"). They form an agreement between you and us.
By downloading, installing or using Renew, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Renew.
2. Apple's license terms
Renew is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These Terms add to the Standard EULA. The Standard EULA governs your license to use the app. If anything in these Terms conflicts with it, the Standard EULA applies to that point.
You also acknowledge that:
- Apple is not a party. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Renew and its content.
- Your license. It is limited to using Renew on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as the App Store's usage rules allow (including Family Sharing).
- Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for any maintenance and support we provide. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
- Warranty. If Renew fails to meet any warranty that applies by law, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of Renew (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Renew.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims by you or third parties relating to Renew or your use of it. This includes product liability claims, claims that Renew fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- Intellectual property claims. If anyone claims that Renew or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Renew.
- Apple as third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted it, to enforce these Terms against you.
3. Who can use Renew
You may use Renew to keep track of your own subscriptions and recurring payments, including those of your household or your own business. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Renew only with a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms for you.
4. What Renew is, and what it is not
Renew is a personal organizer. It helps you record your subscriptions, see what they cost and get reminders. It is provided for information only.
- Renew is not a bank, payment service or financial adviser. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. Insights such as totals, averages or "saved by cancelling" are estimates based on what you entered.
- Renew does not connect to your bank, cards or accounts with providers. It does not detect real charges. Everything it shows is based on the information you enter and on estimates.
- Renew does not cancel, pause or change your subscriptions. Links such as "Manage subscription" open the provider's own website. Cancelling, changing or disputing a subscription is between you and the provider, under the provider's terms.
- You stay responsible for your subscriptions. That includes your payments, renewal dates, trial end dates and cancellation deadlines. Always check them with the provider.
5. Service catalog, prices and brand names
When you add a subscription, Renew can suggest a service from its built-in catalog, with a typical price.
- Catalog prices are estimates. They are typical prices for some regions as of the date shown in the app. They may be out of date or different from what you pay because of your country, plan, taxes, promotions or price changes. Change them to what you actually pay.
- Service names and logos belong to their owners. They are trademarks of their respective owners and are shown only to help you recognize the services you use.
- Renew is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these companies.
- Brand owners can contact us. If you own a brand and want us to change how it appears, see our Legal Notices.
6. Exchange rates
To show totals in one currency, Renew uses exchange rates from a third-party provider (currently ExchangeRate-API). If no current rates are available, it uses the last saved rates or rates built into the app.
- Converted amounts are approximate. Rates are for information only, may be delayed, inaccurate or unavailable, and may differ from the rates and fees your bank, card issuer or provider actually applies.
- Don't rely on them for transactions. Don't use converted amounts as the basis for financial transactions.
7. Reminders
Renew's reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. Whether you get a reminder on time depends on things outside our control. These include:
- your notification permission and iOS settings (for example Focus, Do Not Disturb or Scheduled Summary);
- your device being on;
- the dates and amounts you entered;
- time-zone changes;
- iOS letting the app refresh.
iOS also limits how many reminders an app can schedule in advance. Renew therefore schedules them a limited time ahead and tops them up when you open the app or when iOS runs it in the background, so open Renew from time to time.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for a reminder that arrives late or not at all, or for charges, fees or losses that result. You remain responsible for keeping track of your own payments and deadlines.
8. Your data, backups and sync
- Your data is yours. What you enter in Renew stays on your devices and, if you use iCloud sync, in your private iCloud storage. We never receive it (see our Privacy Policy).
- Keep your own backups. Because we never hold your data, we can't restore it for you. Use Settings › Your data › Export backup regularly and keep your device backed up.
- Sync depends on Apple. It needs an iCloud account, storage and a network connection, and it may be delayed. If the same item is changed on two devices at once, one change may replace the other.
- App lock has limits. It protects the app's screens. It doesn't hide widgets, notifications, exported files or device backups.
- You are responsible for what you enter. Don't enter full card numbers, security codes, passwords or other secrets.
9. Renew Pro
What's free. Renew is free to download. The free version includes up to 5 active subscriptions (cancelled ones don't count), reminders, the small widget, app lock and export. The features of each version are described in the app before you buy.
What Pro adds. As of the date at the top of these Terms, Renew Pro adds:
- unlimited subscriptions;
- iCloud sync between your devices;
- the medium and Lock Screen widgets;
- custom reminders.
A one-time purchase.
- Renew Pro is a single, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription, never renews and has no recurring charges.
- The price is shown in the app and on Apple's purchase sheet before you buy, in your local currency, with the taxes Apple applies.
- Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
What "lifetime" and "forever" mean.
- When the app calls Pro "lifetime" or says it's "yours forever", we mean that Pro doesn't expire and never needs to be renewed or paid for again.
- It stays available on the Apple Account that bought it for as long as Renew is offered on the App Store and supports your device and iOS version. We can't promise that Renew will run on every future device or iOS version, or that it will be offered forever.
- We will not charge you again for the Pro features you bought. We may offer new, separate paid features or products in the future. A feature may change or stop working if we can no longer provide it because of changes made by Apple or other third parties, or because of the law.
Earlier purchases. If you bought "Lifetime Pro" in an earlier version of the app, it is the same purchase, and it stays valid in Renew 2.0 and later at no extra cost.
Family Sharing. If the purchaser has turned on purchase sharing in Family Sharing, members of their family group can use Pro too. Apple's Family Sharing rules apply.
Restoring. To restore Pro on a new device or after reinstalling, use Settings › Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account.
Price changes. We may change the price of Pro for new purchases at any time. This does not affect purchases already made.
Refunds and cancellation.
- Apple handles all payments, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- If you are a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel a purchase, for example within 14 days in the EU and the UK. Apple's terms explain how to use it. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
- If a purchase is refunded, Pro is removed from that Apple Account. Your data stays on your device and nothing is deleted. Sync stops, and you can still view, edit, export and delete all your subscriptions, even if you have more than the free limit. You just can't add new ones beyond the free limit.
10. Acceptable use
When you use Renew, you agree not to:
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except as the law expressly allows;
- remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notices;
- use Renew for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes anyone's rights;
- interfere with Renew or try to get around any of its technical limits;
- suggest that Renew or anything you make with it is endorsed by us or by a brand shown in the app when it isn't.
11. Intellectual property
Renew, including its software, design, text, icons and the Renew name and app icon, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Except for the license described in section 2, these Terms don't give you any rights to it.
Third-party names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners (see our Legal Notices).
If you send us ideas or feedback, you allow us to use them freely and without any obligation to you.
12. Third-party services and links
Renew works with services we don't control, such as Apple's App Store, iCloud and notification services, the exchange-rate provider and providers' websites you open from the app. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and you use them at your own risk.
13. Changes, updates and availability
We may update, change, suspend or stop offering Renew or any feature, for example to fix problems, improve the app or follow the law. Some updates may be needed for Renew to keep working. We are not obliged to provide updates or support except where the law requires it. Where the law requires us to supply updates or keep the app working as described, we will.
We offer support by email on a best-effort basis (see our Support page).
Beta versions. Test versions distributed through TestFlight are provided for testing. They may contain errors and may not work as expected.
14. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Renew is provided "as is" and "as available";
- we don't promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or accurate;
- we don't promise that it will meet your needs or that information in it (including catalog prices, exchange rates, totals and reminders) will be complete, accurate or up to date.
This section doesn't affect any rights you have by law, including warranties or guarantees that cannot be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Excluded losses. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. We are also not liable for loss of data, profits or goodwill, or for missed payments, late fees, charges from providers or decisions you make based on Renew.
- Cap. Our total liability for all claims relating to Renew is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Renew Pro and (b) USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, and your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
16. Ending these Terms
You can stop using Renew at any time by deleting it from your devices.
We may end your license if you seriously breach these Terms. When the agreement ends, you must stop using Renew. The sections that by their nature should continue (including sections 11, 14, 15, 17 and 18) still apply.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will give notice on this website or in the app before it takes effect, where reasonably possible.
If you keep using Renew after the change takes effect, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree with them, stop using Renew. Changes don't apply retroactively and don't affect purchases you have already made.
18. Governing law and disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a problem with Renew, please email us first. Most issues can be solved quickly.
Governing law and courts.
- These Terms (other than the Standard EULA, which has its own governing-law clause) are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
- The courts and enforcement offices of Çanakkale, Türkiye, have jurisdiction, subject to the consumer rights below.
Consumer rights.
- If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
- Consumers in Türkiye may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or the Consumer Court (Tüketici Mahkemesi) where they live, within the limits set each year under Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection.
19. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Standard EULA and Apple's terms for purchases are the whole agreement between you and us about Renew.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right right away, we haven't given it up.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to someone else, for example if Renew is sold. If we do, your rights under these Terms won't be reduced. You may not transfer your rights without our consent.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- Language. If we provide these Terms in another language, the English version applies if there is a difference, except where local law requires otherwise.
